Filip was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where he attended the University of Saskatchewan, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with High Honours, in 2012. He was admitted to the University of Saskatchewan College of Law in 2012, graduating in 2015. During his time at the College, Filip especially enjoyed volunteering with Community Legal Assistance Services for Saskatoon Inner City (CLASSIC), participating in Law Games Montreal 2014, and competing in the annual Challenge Cup Hockey Tournament at the College.
Filip worked at Sequitar Law LLP from 2014-2015, joining the firm as a summer student where he gained experience in the areas of Energy and Securities Law.
Filip joined Kowalchuk Law Office in 2016, as an articling student. Filip’s practice areas and interests lie in Human Rights Law, Environmental Law, Civil Litigation and Labour and Employment. He has participated in mediations involving both Queen’s Bench actions and Human Rights complaints, as well as appearing in matters before Labour Arbitrators and the Labour Relations Board.
Filip is trilingual (English, French and Polish). He is an avid traveler and next travel plans center around Croatia, Greece and Turkey. He also enjoys playing drums, sailing, ice and ball hockey and soccer.
